Go Girl Go for IT

Go Girl Go for IT is an awareness program for high school girls sponsored by VicICT, Telstra, ACS, ANZ, Coles, KPMG, accenture, Deakin, Deloitte, AIIA, Oracle, hp and IBM. Event was held on the 28^th and 29^th of October at Deakin University Burwood campus. The main targeted schools were from Bendigo, Geelong and Ballaret. I got the chance to volunteer on the 2^nd day. Nearly eight to ten presentations were arranged for each day. The main presenters were from Google, Freelance, Artabase, Vic Police, Iron monkey, Microsoft, IBM and Infosys.

I would like to thank ACS for giving me the opportunity to volunteer this event because I got the chance to meet people from industry, and gathered many good ideas from them. Especially the book I received “Tech girls are chic” is an excellent encouragement which covers 16 success stories of 16 girls where 16 ways to have fun with IT.
